Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic OTC Category Manager to join our dynamic team in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Over-The-Counter (OTC) product category, driving sales growth, and optimizing profitability while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the OTC market, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in category management within the retail or pharmaceutical sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Category Strategy Development: Formulate and execute comprehensive category strategies to enhance market share, improve product assortment, and maximize revenue for the OTC segment. This includes analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
• Product Assortment & Merchandising: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, supply chain, and marketing, to curate a well-balanced OTC product portfolio. Ensure optimal shelf placement, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to drive visibility and sales.
• Financial Performance Management: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales growth, profit margins, inventory turnover, and return on investment (ROI). Develop actionable insights to improve financial outcomes and align with company objectives.
• Supplier & Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and key stakeholders to secure favorable terms, ensure product availability, and foster long-term partnerships. Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimize cost efficiency and supply chain performance.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage advanced analytics tools and market research to evaluate performance data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Present actionable recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic planning.
• Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all OTC products comply with local and international regulations, including licensing, labeling, and safety standards. Work closely with quality assurance teams to mitigate risks and maintain high product integrity.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of category analysts and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with other departments to align on business goals and execute initiatives effectively.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Pharmacy, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in Category Management is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in category management, preferably within the OTC, retail, or pharmaceutical industry. Prior experience in a managerial role is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau), ERP systems, and category management software. Strong knowledge of pricing strategies, inventory management, and promotional planning.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze complex data, think strategically, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Additional languages are a valuable asset.
