We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join the dynamic finance team at Future Trading Company in Jeddah. Key Responsibilities

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for a range of essential functions, including:

• Cost Tracking and Analysis: Monitor and analyze production, operational, and overhead costs to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction. Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management to support informed decision-making.
• Inventory Valuation: Accurately calculate and report inventory values using standard costing methods, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with warehouse and procurement teams to maintain precise inventory records.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts by providing cost-related data and insights. Compare actual performance against budgeted figures and analyze discrepancies to recommend corrective actions.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting reports in accordance with corporate policies and international financial reporting standards (IFRS). Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial statements to stakeholders.
• Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in cost accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Recommend system enhancements or automation tools to streamline workflows.
• Collaboration and Compliance: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and senior management, to align cost accounting practices with business objectives. Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, preferably within a trading or manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of cost accounting methodologies, financial analysis tools, and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, and macros). Familiarity with costing software and data visualization tools is advantageous.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data to derive actionable insights. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships across departments.
