Position Overview

WAO Engineering Consultancy, a leading engineering firm based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Protection Engineer / Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exceptional opportunity for graduates from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) specializing in Fire Prevention & Protection Engineering or Safety Engineering to contribute to cutting-edge projects in the region. The role offers a competitive compensation package, including a three-year full-time contract, company-provided accommodation, and transportation, along with a 15% annual salary increment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of critical tasks, including:

• Leading and coordinating fire and life safety design projects in compliance with international standards such as NFPA and the Saudi Building Code (SBC).
• Conducting hydraulic calculations, fire risk assessments, and fire pump sizing to ensure optimal system performance and safety.
• Utilizing advanced software tools, including Revit MEP for independent fire protection design, AutoCAD for drafting, and Navisworks for project coordination and clash detection.
• Providing expert consultancy support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design and BIM coordination to site supervision, testing, and commissioning.
• Preparing and reviewing technical submittals, responding to RFIs (Requests for Information), and ensuring seamless project execution.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions tailored to the unique requirements of the Saudi market.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this prestigious role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Fire Prevention & Protection Engineering or Safety Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi.
• A minimum of five years of post-graduation professional experience in fire protection and safety engineering.
• Eligibility for registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), demonstrating compliance with local regulatory standards.
• Fluency in Arabic (mandatory) and strong proficiency in English to facilitate effective communication in a multicultural work environment.
• Hands-on experience with advanced Revit MEP for fire protection design, AutoCAD for technical drawings, and familiarity with Navisworks for project coordination.
• In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and practical application of hydraulic calculations and fire risk assessments.
• Prior work experience in Saudi Arabia is highly preferred, though not mandatory.
