Position Overview

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Instructor in Medicine to join our esteemed faculty. This pivotal role is designed to enhance the clinical training experience for students enrolled in the General Medicine Program. The Clinical Instructor will play a critical part in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that students develop robust clinical competencies and adhere to the highest professional standards in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Instructor will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Clinical Teaching & Supervision:
  • Oversee and mentor students during clinical rotations and hands-on practical sessions to ensure a seamless integration of academic learning with real-world clinical practice.
  • Conduct bedside teaching, facilitate case discussions, and demonstrate clinical techniques to enhance students’ understanding and skills.
  • Guide students in developing essential clinical reasoning, patient assessment, and informed decision-making abilities.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety, ethics, and professionalism in all clinical settings.
  • Incorporate simulation-based training methodologies to provide a controlled and immersive learning environment.
• Student Assessment & Support:
  • Evaluate students’ clinical performance using structured and objective assessment tools to ensure fair and consistent measurement of competencies.
  • Deliver timely, actionable, and constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Act as a mentor and advisor, supporting students in overcoming academic and clinical challenges while fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Academic & Administrative Duties:
  • Participate actively in student evaluations, including Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), to assess practical competencies.
  • Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records, including attendance, evaluations, and progress reports, to ensure compliance with institutional standards.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of course materials and program reports as part of the faculty’s continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leverage Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital tools to streamline teaching processes, documentation, and student engagement.
• Professional Conduct & Collaboration:
  • Adhere rigorously to institutional policies, clinical regulations, and ethical standards to maintain the integrity and reputation of the college.
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty members, clinical teams, and hospital partners to ensure a cohesive and integrated educational experience.
  • Engage actively in academic activities, departmental meetings, and professional development opportunities to stay abreast of advancements in medical education and clinical practice.

Requirements & Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Hold an MBBS degree or an equivalent qualification in Medicine from a recognized institution.
• Possess a valid professional license and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or equivalent regulatory body, where applicable.
• Demonstrate a minimum of one year of hands-on clinical practice experience in a relevant medical field.
• Prior experience in clinical teaching, supervision, or mentoring is highly desirable.
• Exhibit strong clinical knowledge and exceptional patient care skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services.
