Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of clinical, educational, and operational duties, including:

• Virtual Patient Consultations and Clinical Management: Provide specialized care for patients with gastrointestinal and hepatological disorders through secure telehealth platforms, including video consultations, phone calls, and encrypted messaging. Manage a diverse range of conditions such as:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
• Chronic constipation and diarrhea
• Stable inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) follow-ups
• Fatty liver disease and hepatitis management
• GI-related anemia and functional gastrointestinal disorders

• Review laboratory results and imaging studies remotely, adjusting treatment plans collaboratively with consultants to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Identify urgent red flags requiring in-person evaluation or hospital referral, prioritizing patient safety and timely intervention.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and monitoring protocols, ensuring comprehensive documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) with precision and timeliness.
• Participate in specialized telemedicine-driven care pathways, such as virtual GERD clinics, IBS management programs, and liver disease follow-up initiatives.

• Professional Development and Teaching: Stay at the forefront of gastroenterology and hepatology advancements by engaging in continuous medical education (CME), workshops, and industry conferences. Actively contribute to case discussions, academic activities, and research initiatives while mentoring junior physicians when required.

• Quality Assurance, Patient Safety, and Compliance: Adhere strictly to internal clinical guidelines, telemedicine regulations, and ethical standards to ensure safe and compliant care delivery. Safeguard prescribing practices, particularly in patients with liver impairment, and proactively monitor medication adherence and potential side effects. Report patient safety concerns and adverse events to the Quality Department while participating in virtual audits and quality improvement projects.

• Telehealth Platform Proficiency and Digital Care Delivery: Master the use of telemedicine platforms for secure video consultations, messaging, and remote record-keeping. Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date digital patient records while collaborating with IT teams to optimize system performance and user experience.

• Patient Experience and Satisfaction: Deliver compassionate, clear, and empathetic communication to patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and red-flag symptoms. Educate patients on disease progression, medication management, and lifestyle adjustments to foster adherence and long-term wellness. Promptly address patient inquiries and concerns through telehealth channels, ensuring a seamless and supportive care journey.

• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with consultants, specialists, and interprofessional teams to align care plans, share insights, and enhance patient outcomes. Collaborate on complex cases, participate in virtual rounds, and contribute to the continuous refinement of telemedicine-driven care pathways.
