Position Overview

GEO Global Engineering Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

• Leadership in Mechanical Engineering Design: Oversee and direct mechanical engineering design and consultancy activities for a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry best practices.
• System Development and Review: Develop, evaluate, and refine HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems to meet project specifications, performance criteria, and sustainability goals.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare, review, and approve mechanical calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and technical documents with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Act as a liaison between mechanical engineering and other disciplines—including architectural, structural, and electrical—to foster cohesive project execution and resolve interdependencies.
• Contractor Submittal Review: Evaluate contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all mechanical systems and designs adhere to project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and authority regulations, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC), ASHRAE, NFPA, and international benchmarks.
• Mentorship and Guidance: Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior mechanical engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge transfer within the team.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the engineering team in client, contractor, and coordination meetings, offering expert technical input and solutions to address challenges proactively.
• Site Inspections and Troubleshooting: Conduct on-site inspections to identify and resolve mechanical issues, providing practical and efficient technical solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project continuity.
• Quality and Schedule Oversight: Monitor design deliverables, maintain rigorous quality control, and track project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
• Issue Resolution: Collaborate with project managers and the broader engineering team to address technical and coordination challenges, driving innovative solutions and maintaining project momentum.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering design and consultancy, with a proven track record in delivering complex projects.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems, with a deep understanding of system integration and performance optimization.
• Regional Experience: Prior experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia is highly advantageous, given the familiarity with local codes, regulations, and industry practices.
• Code and Standard Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), ASHRAE standards, NFPA regulations, and other relevant international codes and best practices.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP, with the ability to leverage these tools to produce high-quality designs and documentation.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage diverse project requirements.
• Project Exposure: Prior experience in consultancy and large-scale projects is preferred, reflecting the ability to navigate complex project environments and deliver results under pressure.
• Independence and Adaptability: The capacity to work autonomously, prioritize tasks efficiently, and adapt to evolving project demands while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
