Financial Reporting Lead – Drive Financial Excellence in Saudi Arabia’s Dynamic Fintech Landscape
At Tabby, we are revolutionizing the financial ecosystem by empowering individuals and businesses with a transparent, flexible, and user-centric money management system. Founded in 2019, we have grown into a trusted financial platform serving millions of customers and 65,000 global brands, government services, and small businesses across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait. Our mission is to dismantle the barriers of traditional financial systems—such as opaque interest structures, restrictive fine print, and limited accessibility—by building an intuitive, inclusive, and scalable financial infrastructure.
As a Financial Reporting Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial governance, regulatory compliance, and reporting frameworks for our Saudi Arabia entity. This strategic position demands a blend of technical expertise, analytical rigor, and collaborative leadership to ensure seamless financial operations, adherence to stringent regulatory standards, and alignment with business growth initiatives. You will not only oversee the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting but also drive process improvements, mentor junior team members, and foster cross-functional partnerships to support the launch of innovative financial products—such as wallets, BNPL solutions, cards, remittance services, and loyalty programs.
In this dynamic role, you will be the linchpin between finance, compliance, and operational excellence, ensuring that Tabby’s financial systems reflect the highest standards of integrity, scalability, and adaptability in one of the region’s fastest-growing markets.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of financial leadership, including:
- Financial Close and Reporting: Own and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the KSA entity, ensuring all financial statements are delivered with precision, completeness, and adherence to a D+3 target for timeliness.
- IFRS and Local GAAP Compliance: Prepare high-quality IFRS financial statements with meticulous SOCPA (Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants) adjustments, including supporting schedules, reconciliations, and detailed documentation. Apply advanced IFRS standards—particularly IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments), IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition), and IFRS 16 (Leases)—while maintaining rigorous compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory and Tax Filings: Lead ZATCA (Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority) filings for Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Zakat, VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), and Corporate Tax Deduction Fund (CTDF), ensuring seamless reconciliation with financial statements. Additionally, manage SAMA (Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority) regulatory and prudential reporting to uphold compliance and financial stability.
- Audit and Internal Controls: Support external audits by preparing audit-ready financials, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and serving as the primary point of contact for auditors. Strengthen internal controls, reconciliations, and segregation of duties to mitigate risks and enhance operational resilience.
- Treasury and Intercompany Reporting: Oversee treasury and settlement reporting, including bank account reconciliations and merchant settlements. Collaborate with Group Tax to ensure accurate intercompany and transfer-pricing reporting, aligning with global financial strategies.
- Process Optimization and Automation: Drive continuous improvements in finance processes, leverage ERP systems (with a preference for Oracle NetSuite), and champion data integrity and automation to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Operations teams to ensure finance readiness for new product launches, fostering a culture of innovation and regulatory adherence.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor and review the work of junior finance team members, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of financial reporting.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
To excel in this role, you will bring:
- A 4–6 year proven track record in financial reporting, statutory reporting, or external audit, with a preference for experience in fintech, banking, or Big 4 audit environments.
- Deep technical proficiency in IFRS (with a focus on IFRS 9, 15, and 16) and SOCPA/local GAAP, coupled with a working knowledge of Saudi tax regulations, including Zakat, Corporate Income Tax, VAT, and Withholding Tax.
- Hands-on experience in preparing IFRS financial statements with local adjustments and executing month-end close processes efficiently.
- Regulatory expertise in supporting statutory audits and submitting filings to authorities such as ZATCA and SAMA, ensuring compliance with evolving financial and tax frameworks.
- A professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or SOCPA), either fully attained or in progress, to validate your technical authority.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems, with a particular advantage for Oracle NetSuite experience.
- Analytical acumen and an ownership mindset, coupled with meticulous attention to detail to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic (written and verbal) to facilitate seamless communication across diverse stakeholders.
