Key Responsibilities

The Chief Accountant will play a critical role in shaping the financial health of our organization by leading a team of accounting professionals and collaborating closely with senior management. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Financial Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight for all accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to local and international accounting standards, including GAAP and IFRS, as well as Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements. Oversee tax compliance, audit preparations, and financial disclosures to maintain transparency and mitigate risks.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and management reports. Present insights to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor financial performance against budgets, and provide variance analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with department heads to align financial goals with operational objectives.
• Internal Controls: Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the integrity of financial data. Regularly assess and enhance control frameworks to align with evolving business needs.
• Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Delegate responsibilities effectively to optimize team productivity and professional growth.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, human resources, and legal, to align financial objectives with business goals.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role such as Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, or equivalent. Prior experience in the hospitality or service industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial software. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and audit processes.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to influence and drive change within a large organization.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
