We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Data Engineer to lead the technical design, implementation, and delivery of a next-generation, enterprise-grade Data Lakehouse—the backbone of our AI-driven digital transformation. In this strategic position, you will not only architect and deploy a highly performant, cloud-native Data Lakehouse but also serve as a technical leader, mentoring client engineering teams through a collaborative co-build model. Your expertise will ensure seamless operational ownership, compliance with stringent national data standards, and the seamless integration of AI-driven decision-making systems.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of technical and leadership responsibilities, including:

• Lakehouse Architecture & Implementation: Design and deploy a unified, cloud-hosted Data Lakehouse in Saudi Arabia, adhering to the Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and leveraging open table formats like Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg for optimal scalability and performance.
• Data Ingestion & Pipeline Engineering: Develop highly reusable, automated ingestion frameworks for both structured (RDBMS, APIs) and unstructured data (PDFs, policy documents), ensuring seamless integration with downstream AI models and semantic reasoning engines. Implement batch and streaming pipelines that enhance real-time data processing capabilities.
• Data Quality & Governance: Establish automated data quality controls, including completeness checks, uniqueness validation, and referential integrity enforcement. Implement end-to-end data lineage tracking to ensure transparency, accountability, and trust in data-driven decision-making.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously refine and optimize data processing workflows to maximize speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency, ensuring the platform remains agile and responsive to evolving business needs.
• System Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee the operational health of data systems, proactively addressing SEV (Severity) incidents and other critical issues to maintain 24/7 availability and reliability.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure full adherence to NCA (National Cybersecurity Authority) and NDMO (National Data Management Office) standards. Implement AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.2+ for data in transit, and robust Key Management Systems (KMS). Establish centralized audit logging to enforce regulatory compliance and enhance security posture.
• Access Control Integration: Design and deploy granular Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), integrating seamlessly with enterprise Identity Providers (e.g., Active Directory) to ensure secure and role-specific data access.
• Capability Building & Knowledge Transfer: Lead hands-on technical training sessions, conduct pair-programming workshops, and develop comprehensive operational runbooks. Facilitate Game Day failure simulations to empower client teams with the expertise needed for independent platform ownership.
