Key Responsibilities

As our Cost Specialist, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Strategic Cost Coordination: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocation, project visibility, and alignment with financial controls. Act as a bridge between cost management, project execution, and client expectations to maintain seamless operations.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain comprehensive cost-tracking reports, including weekly, monthly, and variance analyses, to provide real-time insights into project performance. Utilize historical data and industry trends to refine forecasting models and support data-driven decision-making.
• Budget and Forecasting Leadership: Establish and manage baseline budgets for resources, revenue, and costs using advanced Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). Work closely with project teams to develop realistic projections and ensure adherence to financial baselines.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Parsons professionally in client meetings, presenting cost analyses, variances, and recommendations with clarity and confidence. Provide expert guidance to Project Directors and teams on business planning, change control, and cost forecasting.
• Performance Optimization: Identify cost inefficiencies, conduct earned value and cost performance reporting, and recommend corrective actions to enhance project profitability and operational excellence. Drive continuous improvement in cost management practices.
• Technical Expertise: Customize project control systems and financial tools to meet specific project requirements, ensuring scalability and adaptability across diverse project scopes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must bring a blend of technical expertise, industry experience, and a commitment to professional growth:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required. Advanced certifications such as CA, CPA, or ACCA are highly valued.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for mega engineering, construction, or entertainment projects. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Program Management Consulting (PMC) firms or as main contractors.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills, and experience with Power BI or similar analytical tools. Familiarity with industry-specific software and cost management methodologies is a plus.
• Communication and Leadership: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and drive team alignment.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of industry practices, standards, and regulatory frameworks governing large-scale projects. Ability to apply best practices to enhance project outcomes.
