Reporting directly to the Lead PSD, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of Platform Screen Door projects, from design and construction to testing, commissioning, and handover. Your expertise will ensure that every aspect of the PSD system aligns with the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance—all while adhering to strict budgetary and timeline constraints. This role demands a strategic mindset, technical acumen, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams with integrity and precision.

Key Responsibilities

Your leadership will be instrumental in the following critical areas:

• Project Oversight and Compliance: Supervise construction teams and contractors to ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all phases of the project, from preparation to commissioning.
• Design and Technical Review: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including rolling stock, signaling, and construction teams, to review and approve Design-Build contractor deliverables, including design drawings, interface documentation, and method statements.
• Quality Assurance and Installation Management: Direct the construction and installation of Platform Screen Doors, ensuring full compliance with client specifications and industry standards. Monitor progress meticulously, plan supervision activities, and guarantee the timely and safe delivery of high-quality installations.
• Interface Coordination: Act as a bridge between internal project teams (Civil, Track, Systems) and external partners to resolve complex interface issues, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness.
• Commercial and Risk Management: Provide regular progress reports and identify potential commercial risks, feeding critical insights directly to claims teams to mitigate delays and cost overruns.
• Testing and Safety Validation: Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), RAMS assessments, and intricate safety analyses as part of the design safety case for Platform Screen Doors, ensuring all systems meet rigorous operational and regulatory requirements.
• Contractor Management: Lead and supervise Design-Build contractors, including pre-installation testing, to ensure flawless handover to the Testing & Commissioning Team.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

To excel in this role, you will bring a robust blend of technical expertise, leadership experience, and a commitment to excellence. Specifically, we are seeking:

• A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline, with a proven track record in rail infrastructure.
• 10+ years of experience on major civil and rail projects, with a demonstrated ability to deliver PSD systems that meet global standards for quality, safety, and performance.
• Hands-on experience in the design, installation, testing, and operational management of Platform Screen Doors, including familiarity with international PSD standards and railway operational requirements.
• Proven leadership in managing PSD projects to budget, schedule, and quality benchmarks, with a focus on risk mitigation and stakeholder collaboration.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, system assurance processes, manufacturing standards, and health and safety legislation—both nationally and internationally.
• Expertise in GCC markets, including an understanding of regional regulatory frameworks and operational challenges.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical details clearly in both written and verbal formats to diverse audiences, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Adaptability and decisiveness, with the capacity to work under pressure, make critical on-site decisions, and drive projects forward despite unforeseen challenges.
