Key Responsibilities
In this dynamic role, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Cost Structure Development and Maintenance: Design and uphold robust cost-control frameworks tailored to project requirements, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and financial benchmarks.
- Budget and Expenditure Monitoring: Track and analyze budget allocations, commitments, and actual expenditures in real-time, providing actionable insights to project management teams.
- Cost Tracking and Forecasting: Monitor critical cost components, including purchase orders, subcontracts, labor, equipment, and material expenditures, while preparing detailed cost reports and forecasts to anticipate financial trends.
- Variance Analysis and Risk Mitigation: Conduct in-depth variance analysis to identify cost overruns, inefficiencies, or deviations from the plan, proposing corrective measures to mitigate financial risks.
- Financial Performance Reporting: Maintain and update key financial metrics such as Cost-to-Complete (CTC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC), ensuring transparency and accountability across all project stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between procurement, finance, planning, and project management teams, ensuring seamless integration of cost data and fostering alignment on financial strategies.
- Change Order and Variation Assessment: Support the evaluation of cost implications for change orders and project variations, providing accurate assessments to guide decision-making processes.
- Cash Flow and Financial Forecasting: Develop and refine cash flow projections and long-term financial forecasts, enabling proactive financial planning and resource allocation.
- Strategic Decision Support: Deliver reliable cost-performance indicators to executive leadership, empowering them to make data-backed decisions that enhance project profitability and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in cost control and financial management within the construction, EPC, or industrial sectors. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Academic Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications in cost management or project control are a significant advantage.
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cost control, preferably within EPC, construction, or infrastructure projects. Experience in the Oil & Gas or industrial sectors is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in cost budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling. Proficiency in advanced Excel tools, ERP systems, and project-control software is essential.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to interpret complex financial data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend strategic interventions to optimize project economics.
