Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of critical functions, including:

• Equipment Oversight and Maintenance: Ensure the optimal working conditions of all assigned medical equipment, adhering to national and international healthcare standards. Proactively report urgent issues to the Biomedical Engineering Manager/Director and coordinate swift resolutions to minimize disruptions.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work independently or in tandem with the BME Department to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, leveraging your expertise to enhance equipment longevity and performance.
• Strategic Procurement and Inventory Management: Advise on the acquisition of essential tools, test equipment, and spare parts, ensuring alignment with operational needs and budgetary constraints. Maintain organized inventory records for seamless access during critical interventions.
• Scheduled and Corrective Maintenance: Execute or supervise preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks as per manufacturer guidelines, confirming completion through signed service reports. Address urgent incidents with prompt action, coordinating closely with leadership to restore functionality.
• Installation and Decommissioning: Oversee the installation and dismantling of medical equipment, obtaining necessary permits and ensuring all documentation adheres to acceptance and scrap processes.
• Workflow Coordination: Distribute and monitor daily job requests assigned to Biomedical Technicians, ensuring timely execution and follow-up on all service orders.
• Supply Chain Collaboration: Assist the Supply Chain Department in evaluating spare parts and equipment offers, contributing to cost-effective and high-quality procurement decisions.
• Environmental and Technical Compliance: Verify that all new and existing medical equipment meets environmental and technical specifications, ensuring operational safety and efficiency.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer: Identify and deliver necessary training programs for healthcare facility users, fostering proficiency in equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
• Workshop Supervision: Oversee Biomedical Workshop activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and operational protocols.
• Monthly Reporting: Provide comprehensive monthly reports to the Biomedical Engineering Manager/Director, highlighting PPM execution status and key performance metrics.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering, with a strong foundation in medical equipment systems and maintenance protocols.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the service and maintenance of medical equipment, either within a hospital setting or a specialized medical equipment service provider. Your background should demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting, repairs, and compliance with industry standards.
• Certifications: A valid license to practice as a Biomedical Engineer, issued by the relevant regulatory authority, is mandatory.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of both oral and written English, with a preference for Arabic fluency to facilitate seamless communication across diverse teams.
