In this pivotal role, you will serve as the technical leader for steering and brake systems, ensuring seamless integration, superior performance, and flawless execution from prototype development through series production. Your strategic vision and hands-on engineering expertise will be instrumental in driving vehicle quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency, while fostering continuous improvement across the entire supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Your impact will be far-reaching, spanning multiple critical areas:

• Production Support and Issue Resolution: Act as the primary technical authority for steering and brake systems, addressing complex challenges related to build quality, functional performance, durability, and NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness). Lead root cause analyses for manufacturing, supplier, and field issues, implementing both immediate containment measures and long-term corrective actions to minimize downtime and enhance reliability.
• Launch and Program Support: Play a central role in vehicle launches, supporting prototype development, Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV), and production ramp-up. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate engineering changes, track launch issues, and ensure timely resolution, contributing to smooth production readiness and validation sign-offs.
• Manufacturing and Assembly Optimization: Drive improvements in assembly robustness for steering and brake systems, including torque strategies, routing, clearances, bleeding, calibration, and end-of-line verification. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to eliminate stack-up, tolerance, and interface issues, reducing rework and scrap while enhancing process capability.
• Supplier Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Interface directly with steering and brake system suppliers to address production, quality, and performance concerns. Lead technical reviews, supplier audits, and launch readiness activities, ensuring suppliers meet stringent requirements while driving ongoing quality improvements.
• Sustaining Engineering: After initial product launch, lead the development and release of new parts or modifications to enhance quality, durability, or assembly efficiency. Ensure all changes align with design and validation requirements, maintaining the highest standards of performance and reliability.
