Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptual Design & Innovation: Develop and refine mechanical designs for drill bits, leveraging advanced CAD software and simulation tools to create solutions that improve drilling efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and enhance the structural integrity, wear resistance, and thermal management of drill bits to ensure superior performance in challenging downhole environments.
• Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with materials engineers, manufacturing teams, and field experts to translate technical requirements into feasible and scalable designs.
• Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the prototyping phase, conduct performance evaluations, and iterate on designs based on real-world feedback and data-driven insights.
• Regulatory & Compliance Adherence: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications, while maintaining strict quality control protocols.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports, design specifications, and training materials to support manufacturing, maintenance, and operational teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within the oilfield equipment, drilling tools, or energy sector.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing mechanical systems.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and iterative design processes is a significant advantage.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as API (American Petroleum Institute) specifications is highly beneficial.
