In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of cutting-edge server and network equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Your work will span from structured cabling—both copper and fiber optic—to hardware deployments, decommissions, and environmental monitoring of power, cooling, and security systems. You will also troubleshoot incidents, maintain meticulous documentation, and collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network infrastructure, including rack and stack operations, to ensure high availability and performance.
• Perform structured cabling (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4, OS2 fiber) and execute hardware deployments and decommissions with precision and efficiency.
• Monitor and manage environmental systems, including power distribution, UPS systems, and cooling mechanisms, to maintain optimal operating conditions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues promptly and effectively, resolving incidents to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of assets, configurations, and maintenance activities to support compliance and future planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and operations, to align on capacity planning, upgrades, and best practices.
• Participate in capacity planning initiatives and assist in the implementation of infrastructure upgrades to support evolving business needs.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring at least three years of experience in data center operations, with a strong foundation in:

• Advanced cabling skills, including Cat6/6a and OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber optic installations.
• Rack and stack operations, ensuring efficient and organized infrastructure management.
• Power distribution and UPS system maintenance, with a keen understanding of their critical role in data center reliability.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving, enabling you to diagnose and resolve issues swiftly and effectively.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, ensuring clarity and consistency in all interactions and records.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50+ lbs and work in demanding environments, including elevated or confined spaces.

While not mandatory, preferred qualifications include:

• Certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, or CDCE, demonstrating your expertise in data center operations.
• Vendor-specific certifications in Dell, HPE, or Cisco technologies, showcasing your proficiency with industry-leading hardware.
• Network certifications like CCNA or JNCIA, highlighting your technical acumen in networking environments.
• Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms, enabling you to optimize and monitor infrastructure efficiently.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices, ensuring alignment with industry best standards for service management.
