Key Responsibilities

As the Finance Manager, your strategic leadership will be instrumental in steering the finance department toward greater precision, accountability, and strategic impact. Your responsibilities will include:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, board reporting packs, and variance analyses to provide data-driven insights that inform budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making. Lead the year-end audit process, ensuring seamless collaboration with external auditors while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.
• Financial Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain a robust financial control framework, including month-end close processes, purchase and sales ledger reconciliations, and inventory management. Oversee credit risk assessment, bad debt provisions, and customer credit limits to safeguard financial stability. Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational excellence and regulatory adherence.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and refine budgeting and forecasting models to support long-term financial planning. Collaborate with business units to align financial strategies with operational goals, ensuring resource allocation optimises profitability and growth.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, skill development, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews, one-to-ones, and cross-training initiatives to enhance team capabilities and ensure operational continuity through effective holiday cover management.
• Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes, leverage technology, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency. Drive system upgrades and process transformations that align with OSL’s evolving business needs.
