As the Director of IT, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions tailored to the unique demands of the construction and engineering industries. Your expertise will be instrumental in deploying advanced hardware, field-connectivity solutions, and specialized software—such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Procore, and Microsoft Office 365—to streamline workflows, reduce downtime, and elevate project outcomes. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can align technology with business objectives while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span across multiple critical domains, ensuring end-to-end IT excellence:

• Systems Management: Oversee the maintenance, optimization, and support of construction management software, including estimating, scheduling, and ERP tools, to empower both office and field staff with the tools they need to succeed.
• Field Technology & Infrastructure: Design and implement reliable temporary internet solutions, mobile device management (MDM), and hardware deployments for remote and active construction sites, ensuring seamless connectivity and productivity in challenging environments.
• Vendor & SaaS Management: Negotiate strategic contracts and manage relationships with external software-as-a-service (SaaS) providers and hardware vendors to secure cost-effective, high-performance solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Cybersecurity & Data Protection: Lead initiatives to safeguard company networks, proprietary blueprints, financial data, and client communications against evolving cyber threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• User Support & Training: Establish and oversee an IT helpdesk to provide timely troubleshooting and technical support for project managers, engineers, and field laborers, while fostering a user-friendly digital environment.
• Digital Strategy: Stay ahead of industry trends by evaluating emerging technologies—such as drones, IoT sensors, and field-mapping applications—to identify opportunities for enhancing field productivity, reducing operational risks, and driving operational excellence.
• Employee Onboarding & Technology Setup: Collaborate with Human Resources and department managers to streamline the onboarding process, including the configuration and deployment of necessary technology, software access, and equipment. Provide comprehensive training and support to ensure new hires are equipped with the knowledge and tools to contribute effectively from day one.
• Employee Offboarding: Work closely with HR to manage the offboarding process, including the prompt deactivation of system access, secure recovery of company-issued technology, and the preparation of returned devices for reassignment, while maintaining accurate inventory records.
