Sr. Fastener Engineer
الوصف الوظيفي
Join Lucid’s Visionary Team and Redefine Mobility Engineering
At Lucid, we are pioneering the future of mobility by delivering groundbreaking automotive experiences that seamlessly blend performance, sustainability, and cutting-edge design. Our award-winning vehicles, including the Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity, embody our unwavering commitment to excellence—where innovation meets integrity without compromise. Through deep vertical integration, we bring together global talent to design, engineer, and manufacture vehicles that set new industry benchmarks. If you thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven environment and are passionate about pushing the boundaries of engineering, we invite you to contribute your expertise as a Sr. Fastener Engineer.
As a key member of our global Fastener Engineering team and the resident subject matter expert at our AMP-2 production facility in Saudi Arabia, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of fastener engineering across design and manufacturing. Your work will directly impact the quality, reliability, and performance of our vehicles, aligning with Lucid’s vision to redefine what’s possible in automotive engineering.
Key Responsibilities
In this strategic role, you will:
- Serve as the primary fastener engineering liaison between AMP-2 plant vehicle engineering and Lucid’s L1 headquarters, bridging the gap between design intent and manufacturing execution.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Purchasing, and external suppliers to develop innovative and robust joint solutions that elevate Lucid’s world-class designs.
- Lead root-cause analysis and problem-solving for fastener-related challenges on the manufacturing floor, ensuring operational efficiency and product integrity.
- Assess and optimize assembly fastener joint conditions by evaluating factors such as parts, tools, processes, and human elements to enhance assembly precision.
- Track and oversee fastener selection, release, and validation activities, ensuring timely and compliant execution of engineering deliverables.
- Act as the local subject matter expert in fastener selection, joint theory, product knowledge, and assembly processes, providing guidance to cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality.
- Define and refine processes and standards collaboratively with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Interface Engineering (SIE), and Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to drive consistency and excellence.
- Perform advanced bolted joint analysis using Lucid’s proprietary tools and methodologies to ensure structural integrity and performance alignment with design specifications.
Why Your Expertise Matters
Your role will demand a deep technical understanding of bolted joint mechanics, torque-preload relationships, and assembly processes. You will interpret complex data such as torque-angle graphs, force-deflection load diagrams, and joint calculations to inform critical engineering decisions. With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and a hands-on approach to problem-solving, you will be instrumental in overcoming technical challenges and driving continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.
What We’re Looking For
We seek a Sr. Fastener Engineer with:
- 5+ years of professional experience in a technical mechanical engineering role, with a preference for candidates who have hands-on experience in fastener engineering or automotive manufacturing.
- A technical degree from an accredited university, specializing in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Proven expertise in bolted joints, fastener selection, and assembly processes, including proficiency in 3D CAD software such as CATIA V5/V6.
- A solid grasp of GD&T standards, material science, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize product development.
- Hands-on experience in both prototype and production assembly environments, ideally within the automotive sector.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the Engineering Change Release (ECR) process and a track record of contributing to successful engineering projects.
Compensation and Benefits
At Lucid, we value our employees’ contributions with a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support your professional and personal growth. Our offerings include:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with life and disability coverage for enhanced peace of mind.
- Generous paid time off, including up to 120 hours for hourly/non-exempt employees and 160 hours for salaried/exempt employees.
- Paid holidays and sick leave to ensure work-life balance.
- A 401(k) retirement plan to help secure your future.
- Opportunities to participate in Lucid’s equity program and discretionary annual cash incentive programs, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
Join Lucid and be part of a team that is shaping the future of mobility. Your expertise will not only drive innovation but also inspire the next generation of automotive excellence. Apply today and take the first step toward a rewarding career at Lucid.
