In this pivotal role, you will lead the technical execution of chassis manufacturing processes, ensuring every vehicle meets the highest standards of alignment, handling, safety, and customer satisfaction before delivery. As the primary interface between Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Controls, Supplier Quality, Service Engineering, and Plant Operations, you will drive continuous improvement, resolve complex technical challenges, and sustain engineering excellence post-launch. Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Engineer, Chassis Systems, your responsibilities will span critical areas of chassis assembly, alignment, and validation, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance:

• Chassis System Assembly Leadership: Serve as the plant technical lead for end-to-end chassis assembly processes, including front and rear suspension modules, steering systems, brake installations, wheel and tire assembly, subframe marriage, spring/damper/air suspension, and steering gear integration. Drive alignment with manufacturing objectives to achieve unparalleled safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.
• Process Optimization & Innovation: Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to refine assembly sequences, tooling, ergonomics, and workstation layouts for enhanced efficiency and operator ergonomics. Lead validation efforts during prototype, pilot, and production builds to ensure flawless execution.
• Defect Resolution & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve assembly-related challenges, including part fit-up issues, excessive installation forces, dimensional variations, and fastener accessibility concerns. Lead comprehensive root cause analyses to eliminate recurring defects and improve process robustness.
• Joint Tightening & Fastening Integrity: Own the resolution of production issues related to chassis joint integrity and torque-controlled assembly processes. Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance tightening strategies, torque traceability, tool capabilities, and process controls, reducing rework and ensuring structural integrity.
• Wheel Alignment & Vehicle Geometry Expertise: Lead front and rear wheel alignment processes, including camber, caster, toe, thrust angle, ride height settings, and steering wheel centering. Optimize automated wheel alignment stations, alignment equipment, and plant tooling to minimize variability and enhance precision. Establish and enforce robust alignment specifications while addressing customer concerns and warranty claims.
• End-of-Line Quality Validation: Oversee technical ownership of wheel assembly, tire installation, and end-of-line quality validation, ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards. Troubleshoot equipment and process failures to maintain seamless production flow.
• Sustaining Engineering & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with core engineering teams to design and release new parts or process improvements post-launch, ensuring alignment with design and validation requirements. Drive initiatives to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve assembly efficiency.
