- Contractual Excellence: Draft, review, and negotiate first-draft contracts, agreements, and official correspondence to ensure alignment with legal standards, industry best practices, and the unique operational needs of the petrochemical sector.
- Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with the General Counsel to uphold legal and ethical compliance across S-Chem and its subsidiaries, while advising on the development of policies and programs that mitigate potential risks tied to local regulations, Zakat/VAT, tax obligations, and insurance frameworks.
- Dispute Resolution and Litigation Support: Lead compliance investigations, manage legal disputes through negotiation or litigation, and evaluate litigation cases to devise actionable strategies for resolution—ensuring that all matters are resolved with precision and efficiency.
- Market and Regulatory Insights: Conduct in-depth research on external legal landscapes, supplier/vendor mechanisms, and regulatory compliance trends to inform decision-making and support the Legal Department’s strategic objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between internal teams, external counsel, and third-party vendors, ensuring seamless collaboration and adherence to confidentiality protocols while maintaining rigorous documentation standards.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Contribute to ad-hoc legal initiatives as directed by the General Counsel, leveraging your expertise to address emerging challenges and opportunities within the petrochemical industry.
This role is not just about legal compliance—it’s about driving the future of Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical sector. - International Commercial Expertise: Proven experience in analyzing, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating international commercial agreements and cross-border transactions, with a keen understanding of global legal frameworks and their application in the petrochemical industry.
- Technical Acumen: Familiarity with the petrochemical sector’s regulatory environment, including Zakat/VAT, tax compliance, and insurance considerations, is highly advantageous.
- Analytical and Strategic Mindset: The ability to think critically, anticipate legal risks, and propose proactive solutions that align with both business objectives and regulatory requirements.
