CNC Machinist-1 – Precision Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence

As a **CNC Machinist-1**, your responsibilities will span critical aspects of production, from machine operation to quality assurance and maintenance. You will collaborate closely with technical support, quality control, and engineering teams to deliver flawless results while optimizing workflow efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Precision Machining Execution: Operate CNC machines (including VTL, HBM, and HLM systems) with precision, following established Methods of Procedure (MOP), programming instructions, and tooling specifications provided by technical support. Ensure full compliance with process discipline to achieve high-quality, defect-free production.
- Quality Assurance & Self-Inspection: Conduct thorough self-inspections in accordance with MOP guidelines, documenting results accurately to maintain production quality standards. Utilize standard measuring tools and tool-measuring devices, such as the Zoller system, to verify dimensional accuracy and tool performance.
- Operational Efficiency & Support: Drive operational efficiency by optimizing machine performance and minimizing downtime. Assist in resolving production bottlenecks and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow coordination between the Workshop, Technical Support, Quality Control, and Manufacturing Planning departments.
- Equipment Maintenance & Safety Compliance: Perform daily and weekly equipment maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Team to preserve machine integrity and extend operational lifespan. Strictly adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols, including risk identification and mitigation during production and material handling. Operate cranes and forklifts safely where applicable.
- Technical & Administrative Excellence: Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, technical documents, and NC machining characteristics. Leverage expertise in mechanical and electrical systems to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions. Manage tool administration, including selection, assembly, and maintenance of cutting tools, to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Engage in open communication with NC programmers, process engineers, and tooling specialists to refine processes and address technical challenges. Utilize industry-standard software, including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Tool Data Management systems, to streamline workflows and enhance decision-making.
- Adaptability & Leadership: Embrace additional tasks assigned by leadership, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to continuous learning. Contribute to a culture of integrity, discipline, and professionalism aligned with company values.
Required Qualifications
- A diploma from a technical college or equivalent hands-on experience in CNC machining operations.
- Proven expertise in operating CNC machines, including Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL), Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM), and Horizontal Lathe Mill (HLM) systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience with standard measuring tools and tool-measuring devices, such as the Zoller system.
- Certification or training in crane and forklift operation, where applicable.
- Completion of systematic EHS training and a demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
Desired Characteristics
- A technical secondary school degree or higher, with a major in machinery or electrical engineering.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with a strong preference for candidates with expertise in mechanical machining, turbine production, or tool administration.
- Advanced knowledge of cutting tools, their usage, and maintenance, including assembly and metal-cutting techniques.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and understanding the interdependencies between Workshop operations, Technical Support, Quality Control, and Manufacturing Planning.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with NC programmers, process engineers, and tooling specialists.
- Fluency in using industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Tool Data Management systems.
- Experience in manual work, locksmithing, or related trades, with a focus on precision and technical problem-solving.
