As the **Technical Authority for Process Safety** at NGHC, you will be the strategic visionary behind our safety culture, leveraging deep expertise in high-pressure, flammable, and toxic environments to mitigate risks and drive operational excellence. Your leadership will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust **Process Safety Management System (PSMS)**, aligning with global best practices while ensuring full compliance with national and international regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will:

• Lead Process Safety Initiatives: Oversee all process safety aspects throughout the lifecycle of NGHC projects, from design and construction to operation and maintenance, ensuring adherence to legal requirements, industry standards, and corporate policies.
• Subject Matter Expertise (SME): Serve as the go-to authority on hydrogen and ammonia safety, including specialized areas such as embrittlement, cryogenic storage, and toxicity dispersion modeling, to inform critical decision-making.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate seamless interface activities between NGHC and all external contractors, ensuring alignment on process safety deliverables and fostering a collaborative environment for project success.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer: Develop and deliver comprehensive process safety training programs for engineers, asset managers, reliability teams, and operational staff, empowering them with the expertise to uphold safety standards.
• Technical Authority and Compliance: Establish and maintain technical safety standards, operating procedures, and systems, while interpreting and applying regulatory requirements for Saudi Arabia to guide the site team through permitting and compliance processes.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Lead and participate in critical safety reviews, including Process Hazard Reviews (PHAs), Hazardous Area Classifications, Gas Dispersion Modeling, and Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs), to identify and mitigate potential hazards proactively.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Continuous Improvement: Drive investigations into process safety incidents, applying Human Performance principles to enhance safety protocols and implement sustainable improvements through capital projects.
• Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) Oversight: Collaborate with control and instrumentation teams to ensure Safety Integrity Levels (SILs) meet targets, maintaining the lifecycle of critical safety systems.
• Industry Engagement and Innovation: Represent NGHC in industry forums, contribute to emerging global safety standards, and stay at the forefront of process safety advancements through partnerships with organizations like the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) and The Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center.
• Advanced Consequence Modeling: Oversee sophisticated modeling for fire, explosion, and toxic gas release scenarios to enhance emergency response planning and safety measures.
