As an IT Infrastructure Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, optimizing, and expanding our global IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and operational resilience across diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum of IT infrastructure management, including but not limited to:

• Structured Cabling and Network Infrastructure: Ensure adherence to industry and Air Products’ internal standards for cable management, labeling, and compliance. Oversee the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling—including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optics—for data, voice, and CCTV systems. Conduct thorough OTDR and Fluke testing, documenting results for compliance and future reference.
• IT Room and Equipment Management: Design and organize IT room layouts, including the mounting of equipment and meticulous cable management with clear labeling and documentation. Verify installations against project specifications to guarantee performance and reliability.
• Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring seamless collaboration with the Digital Technology (DT) Infrastructure and support teams. Act as a liaison for IT-related projects, including DMZ installations and configurations, while maintaining alignment with project timelines and objectives.
• Technical Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues with cabling, connectors, and network drops. Provide end-to-end support for microwave and Tetra tower installations, working closely with external vendors to ensure optimal device performance and connectivity.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to stringent health and safety protocols, executing tasks in accordance with Safety Work Permits. Develop and approve Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Risk Assessments to mitigate potential hazards. Ensure all site activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal safety standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare, review, and maintain comprehensive documentation for Inspection Test Reports (ITRs), uploading records to platforms like Aconex and OT. Establish and manage temporary IT infrastructure, including network cabling, wireless access points, and VPN connections, to support project deployments.
• Remote and Local Support: Provide local coordination for issue remediation and deployments, collaborating with distributed Digital Infrastructure Services (DIS) teams. Offer on-site IT support, maintaining IT standards and safety protocols within assigned areas of responsibility. Extend support to industrial control systems and facilitate network hardware upgrades for maintainability initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

• Possess a Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent specialized training/certification. Strong proficiency in written and spoken English is essential for effective communication across teams.
• Have Proven Experience: Demonstrated expertise in desktop support or IT infrastructure roles, with a deep understanding of Layer 1 (Physical Layer) infrastructure. Hands-on experience in fiber optic and copper/UTP cable installation and testing, including physical rack installations, grounding, and power systems for IT infrastructure.
• Master Technical Foundations: Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN configurations, and remote connectivity solutions (SSL/VPN). Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 7, 10, and 11) and network connectivity principles.
• Exhibit Key Competencies: Highly motivated with strong self-direction, initiative, and the ability to thrive in remote or hybrid team environments. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
