Inspection Engineer – Lifting, Earthmoving & NDT

Join Total Unified Validation (TÜV) as an **Inspection Engineer** in Riyadh, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence within the critical sectors of lifting, earthmoving, and non-destructive testing (NDT). This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for quality assurance, technical expertise, and a commitment to driving operational integrity across industrial and construction environments.

As an Inspection Engineer at TÜV, you will be responsible for conducting rigorous inspections, assessments, and certifications to validate the performance, reliability, and safety of heavy machinery, lifting equipment, and infrastructure projects. Your work will directly contribute to minimizing risks, preventing equipment failures, and ensuring adherence to international and regional regulatory standards. This role demands a blend of technical acumen, analytical rigor, and strong communication skills to collaborate with clients, engineers, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lifting Equipment Inspection: Perform comprehensive inspections, testing, and certification of cranes, hoists, lifting gear, and rigging systems to ensure compliance with global standards such as ISO, EN, and local regulations. Assess structural integrity, load capacities, and operational safety to mitigate risks in high-stakes environments.
  • Earthmoving Equipment Evaluation: Inspect and validate earthmoving machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, and loaders, to guarantee optimal performance, durability, and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct pre-operation checks, functional tests, and periodic assessments to prevent equipment-related incidents.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Apply advanced NDT techniques such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, radiographic testing, and dye penetrant analysis to detect flaws, defects, or material inconsistencies in critical components and structures without compromising their integrity.
  • Compliance and Certification: Ensure all inspected equipment and systems meet regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and client-specific standards. Issue inspection reports, certificates, and recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.
  • Technical Advisory and Training: Provide expert guidance to clients, engineers, and site personnel on safety protocols, maintenance best practices, and compliance strategies. Conduct training sessions to enhance awareness of inspection procedures and risk management.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of inspections, test results, and certification processes using TÜV’s digital platforms. Prepare detailed, accurate, and professional reports that communicate findings, risks, and actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Regulatory and Industry Engagement: Stay abreast of evolving industry standards, legislative changes, and technological advancements in lifting, earthmoving, and NDT. Collaborate with regulatory bodies and industry forums to contribute to the development of best practices and safety frameworks.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related technical discipline. Certifications in lifting equipment inspection, NDT, or relevant engineering domains are highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in inspection, testing, or certification roles within lifting, earthmoving, or construction sectors. Familiarity with TÜV’s inspection methodologies is a significant asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of international and regional standards (e.g., ISO 4309, EN 13001, ASME, API) governing lifting equipment, earthmoving machinery, and NDT procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with NDT techniques, including ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, and magnetic particle inspection, with a strong understanding of their applications and limitations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential risks, assess equipment conditions, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Strong technical writing and reporting skills to produce clear, concise, and compliant documentation for regulatory and client purposes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including engineers, clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required, with proficiency in additional languages being a plus.
  • A commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement in all professional endeavors.

TÜV is a globally recognized leader in inspection, certification, and testing, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment where technical expertise is valued and innovation is encouraged. This role presents an opportunity to make a tangible impact on industrial safety and operational efficiency while advancing your career in a prestigious organization. If you are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for technical excellence and compliance, we invite you to apply and be part of our mission to ensure a safer, more reliable world.
