Join Boehringer Ingelheim, a globally recognized biopharmaceutical leader, as our Controller for the SAGEA (Saudi Arabia, Gulf, East Africa) region, based in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will drive financial excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making while fostering strong partnerships across business units. Reporting directly to the SAGEA Head of Finance & Accounting, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial health and growth of our dynamic regional operations.

As the Controller, your responsibilities will span planning, reporting, business partnering, and controlling, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in financial strategy, compliance, and process optimization within a forward-thinking, mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of financial leadership, including:

  • Strategic Planning and Budgeting: Lead the planning cycle by communicating guidelines, timelines, and financial targets to stakeholders. Provide in-depth financial impact analyses and support review meetings with comprehensive overviews and data-driven recommendations. Ensure seamless data submission across systems to maintain accuracy and timeliness.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with regional teams to implement and align financial strategies. Deliver operational support through pricing, discount, and profitability analyses, while identifying opportunities for cost optimization and strategic partnerships. Act as a trusted advisor by interpreting financial data and translating insights into actionable decisions. Bridge cross-functional gaps between OPU (Operational Performance Unit) and ROPU (Regional Operations Performance Unit) to enhance communication and process efficiency.
  • Financial Reporting and Closing: Oversee the preparation of accurate accruals, provisions, and reconciliations to ensure compliance with corporate policies and IFRS standards. Coordinate data collection from internal and external resources to produce timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Conduct month-end routines, checks, and analyses to provide OPU management with clear, insightful financial commentary.
  • Projects and Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance financial processes, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices. Support the ROPU Controlling team on ad-hoc projects to foster innovation and operational excellence. Stay ahead of industry trends and implement best-in-class solutions to elevate financial governance.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain rigorous oversight of compliance with corporate SOPs, local regulations, and international standards. Champion ethical financial practices and risk mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational integrity.
  • Networking and Professional Growth: Build and nurture internal and external relationships to expand your professional influence. Continuously develop your expertise in financial tools, regulations, and industry standards to remain at the forefront of your field.

This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, multinational environment and is passionate about delivering measurable impact through financial leadership. Your ability to blend analytical rigor with strategic vision will be instrumental in driving the success of Boehringer Ingelheim’s regional operations.
