Project Director – Lead Visionary for Large-Scale Construction Developments in Jeddah

At MOBCO Construction, we are seeking a distinguished Project Director to spearhead the execution of transformative construction projects in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This role demands a seasoned professional with an unparalleled track record in delivering mega and giga-scale developments, including high-end shopping malls, luxury hotels, and iconic high-rise towers. As the strategic leader of our projects, you will oversee every phase of development—from conceptualization to final handover—ensuring excellence in execution, sustainability, and stakeholder satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will bring 25+ years of hands-on experience in civil engineering or architecture, with a proven ability to navigate the complexities of large-scale, high-impact projects. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage intricate logistics, and drive projects to completion within budget, schedule, and quality benchmarks, while upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

In this pivotal role, your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Project Leadership: Direct the full lifecycle of major construction projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and global best practices.
• Team & Stakeholder Management: Assemble, mentor, and oversee multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, subcontractors, and site personnel, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, ensuring seamless integration of technical, commercial, and logistical elements.
• Risk & Performance Optimization: Identify and mitigate project risks, optimize resource allocation, and implement robust project controls to maintain financial and temporal viability.
• Technical & Commercial Acumen: Provide expert guidance on construction methodologies, contract negotiations, and commercial management to drive cost-efficient and high-quality outcomes.
• Regulatory & Compliance Expertise: Ensure full adherence to Saudi building regulations and international construction standards, while navigating local and global market dynamics.

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture (Master’s degree preferred) and a minimum of 25 years of industry experience, with a strong focus on mega/giga projects—ideally within Saudi Arabia.
• Proven expertise in delivering complex, high-profile developments, including luxury hotels, shopping malls, and high-rise structures, with a track record of fast-track project execution.
• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage large, diverse teams and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Deep knowledge of construction methodologies, contracts, and project controls, coupled with strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Familiarity with Saudi and international construction standards, as well as commercial and contractual frameworks.
• A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in Arabic is considered a significant asset.
