Senior Analyst, Configuration Management – Drive Excellence in Configuration Governance at Raytheon

At Raytheon, we empower innovation and deliver cutting-edge solutions that shape the future of defense, aerospace, and cybersecurity. As a **Senior Analyst, Configuration Management**, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, traceability, and compliance of our critical systems and products. This position demands a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of configuration governance across complex environments.

In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, development, and operations—to establish and enforce robust configuration management processes. Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of our systems, from initial design and development to deployment, maintenance, and retirement. By leveraging industry best practices and advanced tools, you will ensure that our configurations align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and stakeholder expectations.

What sets this opportunity apart is the chance to work on high-impact projects that directly influence mission-critical outcomes. Whether optimizing workflows, resolving configuration discrepancies, or implementing automated solutions, your contributions will drive operational efficiency and reduce risks associated with system inconsistencies. You will also serve as a subject matter expert, mentoring junior analysts and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our teams.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and are passionate about ensuring precision and reliability in complex technical ecosystems, we invite you to join Raytheon. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in configuration management, change control, and system documentation. Your ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate technical insights will be instrumental in supporting Raytheon’s mission of delivering superior solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive configuration management processes and policies to ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., CMMI, ITIL, or DoD 5000.02).
  • Lead the configuration control board (CCB) or equivalent governance bodies to review, approve, and track changes across systems and software.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define and enforce configuration baselines, version control strategies, and release management workflows.
  • Analyze system configurations to identify discrepancies, risks, or compliance gaps, proposing actionable solutions to mitigate issues.
  • Automate repetitive configuration tasks using scripting, tools like Git, Jenkins, or other DevOps platforms to enhance efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Document technical configurations, release notes, and audit trails to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex configuration requirements into actionable deliverables.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to validate configuration integrity and recommend process improvements.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives to elevate team capabilities in configuration management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, or CMMI) are a plus.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in configuration management, change control, or related technical disciplines within defense, aerospace, or IT environments.
  • Deep expertise in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN), configuration management databases (e.g., CMDB), and release management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical documentation and resolve complex configuration issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge gaps between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., DoD, ISO, or industry-specific standards) and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Agile or waterfall methodologies and an understanding of DevOps principles is highly desirable.
  • Certifications in configuration management (e.g., EC-Council’s Configuration Management Professional) are advantageous.

Join Raytheon and be part of a team that redefines excellence in configuration management. Your expertise will not only enhance our operational resilience but also empower us to deliver mission-critical solutions with unmatched precision and reliability.
