SAP Basis Administrator

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive SAP Basis Administrator to oversee and optimize our company’s SAP S/4HANA environment and broader IT infrastructure. In this pivotal role, you will provide regional IT support across multiple sites, ensuring seamless system availability, robust security, peak performance, and uninterrupted business continuity. Key Responsibilities

The SAP Basis Administrator will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our SAP landscape, including development, quality assurance, production, and disaster recovery systems. Your core duties will encompass the following areas:

• SAP Basis Administration: Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and support SAP environments, ensuring they operate efficiently and align with business objectives. This includes managing system landscapes, performing regular health checks, and addressing technical issues proactively.
• SAP System Performance & Availability: Monitor system performance metrics, conduct capacity planning, and implement measures to enhance availability and reliability. Your role will be critical in preventing downtime and ensuring optimal user experience across all SAP applications.
• SAP Upgrades, Patching & Transport Management: Execute SAP kernel upgrades, implement support packages, manage transport requests, and perform system refreshes to maintain a current and stable environment. Your expertise will ensure smooth transitions during updates and minimize disruptions to business operations.
• User & Security Administration: Oversee SAP user management, including role assignments, authorizations, and security controls. You will enforce compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, safeguarding sensitive data and mitigating risks associated with unauthorized access.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain robust backup strategies, ensure data integrity, and validate disaster recovery procedures. Your efforts will be essential in protecting critical business data and enabling rapid restoration in the event of an incident.
• SAP Database & HANA Support: Provide expert-level support for SAP HANA databases, including performance monitoring, backup management, and troubleshooting. Your technical proficiency will ensure the database infrastructure operates at peak efficiency to support high-performance SAP applications.
• Cloud & Infrastructure Support: Manage SAP infrastructure hosted on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, and network dependencies. Your role will involve collaborating with cloud providers to optimize performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Incident & Problem Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for SAP and IT-related incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Your problem-solving skills will be instrumental in maintaining system stability and minimizing operational disruptions.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between internal teams, SAP support, and external vendors to resolve issues, implement enhancements, and support strategic projects. Your communication and project management skills will drive alignment and foster productive partnerships.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and professional attributes:

• A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in IT principles and practices.
• Accredited certifications such as SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP S/4HANA System Administration, validating your expertise in SAP Basis administration, system monitoring, and landscape management.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, with a proven track record in enterprise IT support and SAP environment management.
• Demonstrated experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC environments, ensuring you are well-versed in the latest SAP technologies and best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted SAP environments is highly desirable, reflecting your ability to adapt to modern infrastructure paradigms and leverage cloud-based solutions effectively.
