About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic team at Schneider Electric. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in the technical execution and delivery of a comprehensive range of cybersecurity solutions and services tailored for our external clients. Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring robust protection and resilience for our clients' systems and networks. Key Responsibilities
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity solutions that safeguard critical infrastructure. Your core duties will include:
- Project Execution and Delivery: Assist in the technical execution of cybersecurity projects for OT systems and networks, covering planning, implementation, and delivery phases to ensure seamless integration and operational readiness.
- Cybersecurity Controls Implementation: Deploy and manage robust cybersecurity controls and safeguards to protect OT systems and networks from evolving threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Risk and Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security gaps in OT systems. Recommend and implement effective remediation measures to mitigate risks and enhance overall security posture.
- Expert Consultation and Guidance: Provide specialized consulting services to clients on OT cybersecurity best practices, emerging threats, and innovative technologies. Serve as a trusted advisor to help clients navigate complex cybersecurity challenges.
- System Design and Maintenance: Assist in the design, configuration, and maintenance of cybersecurity controls for OT systems and networks, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams and departments to integrate cybersecurity measures into OT projects and operations, fostering a culture of security awareness and compliance.
- Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends, threats, and advancements in OT cybersecurity. Leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and enhance the effectiveness of our cybersecurity solutions.
- Testing and Documentation: Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate the functionality and security of cybersecurity solutions. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Design and Development Specifications (DDS), and Method of Systems (MOS), to ensure clarity and compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in OT Industrial Control Systems, with a deep understanding of their architecture and operational requirements.
- Network Security Expertise: Proven experience (2+ years) in the installation and management of network-based firewalls, including platforms such as Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, or other industry-leading solutions.
- Network Implementation Skills: Strong background (2+ years) in Layer 2 and Layer 3 network implementation and configuration, including protocols such as STP, RING, VRRP, OSPF, ISIS, and RIP.
- Network Troubleshooting Proficiency: Demonstrated ability (2+ years) to troubleshoot network issues using advanced tools and techniques, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Intrusion Detection Systems: Experience (2+ years) in the installation and management of network-based Intrusion Detection Systems to monitor and respond to security incidents.
- Endpoint Security Solutions: Hands-on experience (2+ years) in implementing endpoint security solutions, including antivirus software, Data Leakage Prevention (DLP), Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and application allow-listing.
- Backup and Patch Management: Proven track record (2+ years) in implementing system backup solutions and managing patch management processes to ensure system integrity and security.
- Scripting and Programming: Proficiency (2+ years) in scripting and programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash to automate tasks and enhance cybersecurity operations.
- Security Tools and Techniques: Experience (2+ years) with discovery, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing tools, including Nessus, Qualys, ZAP Proxy, Burp Suite, and Metasploit.
