Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in driving financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for a diverse range of financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial reporting. Your core duties will include:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with department heads to develop and maintain annual company budgets and related financial reports.
    • Prepare monthly departmental budgets and monitor actual expenditures against allocated funds.
    • Manage Capital Expenditure (CapEx) budget utilization reports to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly and weekly cash flow forecasts to optimize liquidity and financial planning.
  • Costing and Accounting Activities:
    • Perform monthly cost allocations to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
    • Estimate Proof of Concept (PoC) and Work in Progress (WIP) values and reconcile monthly billing with the Project Services department.
    • Record fixed asset transactions and calculate depreciation to maintain accurate financial records.
    • Estimate monthly subcontractor accruals and prepare Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Operational Expenditure (OpEx) Cost Allocation Reports (CARs).
    • Review account reconciliations and balance sheets to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare the monthly Project Financial Statement Report (PFSR) and reconciliation statements to provide stakeholders with transparent financial insights.
    • Generate weekly and monthly timesheet analysis reports, leave reports, and management PTS reports to support workforce planning.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly IKTVA (In-Kingdom Total Value Add) reports to demonstrate compliance with local content requirements.
    • Assist in the preparation of quarterly audit committee packs, board packs, and related financial reports to facilitate governance and compliance.
    • Develop Chargeable Man Hours (Non-Projects) reports, proposal analysis, and Project Support Expenditure (PSE) reports to evaluate project profitability.
    • Conduct monthly variance analysis of financial results to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Prepare occupancy reports and ad hoc financial reports to support management decision-making.
  • Audits and Compliance:
    • Assist in internal audits, financial audits, and tax audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
    • Participate in annual IKTVA audits to validate compliance with local content regulations.
    • File supporting documents related to financial activities and maintain organized records for audit purposes.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster professional growth and development.
    • Supervise the work of subordinates within a small work unit to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial tasks.
    • Act as a backup resource during the absence of team members or during peak periods to maintain operational continuity.
    • Communicate and promote the company’s vision, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, and performance expectations across the team.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, CMA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field is essential. Prior experience in a senior financial role is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and GAZT (General Authority of Zakat and Tax) legislation.
    • Proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with financial, budgeting, and planning Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic and tactical mindset.
    • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial information in a clear, concise, and non-technical manner.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a hands-on management capacity, demonstrating adaptability and leadership.
