ERP Specialist (SAP)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented ERP Specialist (SAP) to join our dynamic IT and business operations team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in maintaining, configuring, and optimizing our SAP ecosystem to support critical business functions across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and human resources. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering robust, auditable, and user-centric ERP solutions that align with organizational objectives. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Procurement, Operations, and external implementation partners, to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The ERP Specialist (SAP) will be responsible for a wide range of activities to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our SAP landscape. Your core duties will include:

• SAP System Support & Configuration:
  • Provide expert-level support for SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, and HR, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Configure SAP master data, modules, workflows, authorization roles, and interfaces to meet evolving business requirements while adhering to industry best practices.
  • Manage transport requests, system changes, and configuration documentation in compliance with established change control procedures to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
• Project Delivery & Enhancements:
  • Actively participate in ERP implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects by gathering requirements, conducting fit/gap analyses, designing solutions, and supporting testing and deployment activities.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex process requirements into SAP configurations, custom development requests, or process optimizations.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts, develop comprehensive test scripts, and validate business scenarios to ensure high-quality releases and minimal disruption.
• Integrations, Data & Reporting:
  • Coordinate with integration teams to maintain seamless and reliable interfaces between SAP and third-party systems, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and timely processing.
  • Perform data migrations, periodic data cleansing, and develop and validate data extracts, transforms, and loads (ETL) to support business operations and reporting needs.
  • Create and maintain operational and financial reports, queries, and interactive dashboards to empower data-driven decision-making and meet regulatory compliance requirements.
• Governance, Security & Continuous Improvement:
  • Support SAP security administration, including role design, segregation of duties (SoD) analysis, and periodic access reviews to uphold compliance and enforce least-privilege principles.
  • Document solution designs, configuration settings, runbooks, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer, ensure audit readiness, and support ongoing system maintenance.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance ERP processes, automation, and system performance; recommend and implement practical improvements that drive efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in a relevant domain.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of three years of hands-on experience supporting or configuring SAP (or comparable ERP systems) in a production environment.
  • Practical knowledge of at least one SAP functional area, such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, or HCM, along with a solid understanding of core business processes.
  • Experience with SAP configuration, transport management, master data governance, and basic ABAP awareness for troubleshooting integrations or custom reports.
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience using ticketing systems, change control processes, and documenting technical and functional specifications to ensure clarity and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to conduct user training sessions and create clear, concise process documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be considered a strong advantage:

• SAP certification in a relevant module, such as S/4HANA, FI/CO, MM, or SD, or equivalent vendor certification.
• Hands-on experience with S/4HANA migrations, upgrades, or cloud-hosted SAP landscapes, demonstrating adaptability to modern ERP environments.
• Familiarity with integration tools and middleware, such as SAP Process Integration/Process Orchestration (PI/PO), Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), IDoc, or APIs, and experience implementing interfaces between ERP and other enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of segregation of duties tools, audit controls, and experience supporting compliance initiatives within SAP environments.
