Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Piping Engineer specializing in Fire Protection Systems to join our dynamic engineering team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing advanced piping systems dedicated to firewater networks, ensuring compliance with industry-leading standards and best practices. Your expertise will be pivotal in safeguarding facilities through meticulously engineered fire protection solutions, including hydrants, monitors, deluge systems, and sprinkler networks.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Piping Engineer will play a central role in the development and execution of fire protection piping systems, adhering to stringent regulatory and corporate standards. Your core duties will include:

• Design and Engineering Oversight: Lead the design and review of piping layouts, isometric drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), stress analysis, valve lists, and material specifications, with a focus on firewater systems.
• Compliance and Standards Adherence: Develop and validate firewater piping networks in strict accordance with SAES-B-017, NFPA 13, NFPA 15, NFPA 24, and other relevant industry standards to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Material and Procurement Support: Prepare comprehensive Material Take-Offs (MTOs), material requisitions, and technical evaluations for valves, piping materials, and fire protection systems, facilitating efficient procurement and project execution.
• Field Engineering and Technical Support: Provide on-site technical guidance during construction, hydrostatic testing, system tie-ins, and commissioning phases to ensure seamless integration and functionality of fire protection systems.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to align fire protection piping designs with broader project objectives and infrastructure requirements.
• Issue Resolution and Documentation: Address and resolve field issues by responding to Technical Queries (TQs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and modification requests, ensuring minimal project disruptions and adherence to safety protocols.
• Safety and Risk Management: Actively participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, 3D model reviews, and safety sessions to identify potential risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 to 12 years of hands-on experience in piping engineering, with a proven track record in the design and implementation of fire protection systems.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of SAES-B standards, ASME B31.3, NFPA fire protection standards, and familiarity with Aramco’s engineering workflows and processes.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex engineering challenges, develop innovative solutions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
