Role Overview

The Consulting Psychologist will play a pivotal role within the hospital’s multidisciplinary care team, providing expert psychological support to patients across diverse medical and surgical specialties. This full-time, on-site position is based in Riyadh and requires a proactive, compassionate professional dedicated to enhancing patient well-being through evidence-based psychological interventions. The Consulting Psychologist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, delivering individual and group therapy sessions, and addressing a wide array of mental health concerns. Collaboration with medical and nursing teams will be essential to integrate psychological care seamlessly into overall treatment plans, ensuring a holistic approach to patient recovery and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Psychological Assessments: Perform thorough diagnostic evaluations and standardized psychological testing to identify mental health conditions, cognitive impairments, and behavioral challenges, ensuring accurate and timely interventions.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Provide individual and group counseling sessions tailored to the unique needs of patients, fostering resilience, coping strategies, and emotional well-being.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement integrated care plans that address both medical and psychological needs.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records, documenting clinical findings, treatment progress, and recommendations to support continuity of care.
• Case Discussions and Care Planning: Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, offering expert insights to guide treatment decisions and optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a robust academic and professional background in psychology and mental health, combined with the ability to apply psychological principles within a medical setting. The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, such as a Master’s or Doctorate, from an accredited institution. Professional licensure or eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in the relevant jurisdiction is required.
