Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Stock Control Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing stock aging, and ensuring seamless inventory management across our dark store operations. This position is based in an office environment and requires close collaboration with Operations, Commercial, and Distribution Center (DC) teams to uphold precise inventory records and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for data analysis, problem-solving, and process improvement, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

The Stock Control Specialist will be responsible for a range of critical functions, including:

• Inventory Accuracy: Monitor and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy to minimize discrepancies and support operational efficiency.
• Stock Aging Management: Track and control stock aging to identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend strategies for optimization.
• Daily Inventory Reviews: Review daily stock levels to ensure alignment with system records and investigate any discrepancies that may arise.
• Inventory Movement Tracking: Monitor and record all inventory movements, including inbound and outbound transactions, transfers, returns, and adjustments, to maintain a comprehensive audit trail.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct thorough variance analysis between system stock and physical counts to identify root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Reporting and KPIs: Prepare accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports, along with key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Commercial, and DC teams to ensure seamless coordination, address inventory-related challenges, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years in stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations, with a proven track record of maintaining inventory accuracy and efficiency.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis capabilities, to support inventory reporting and analysis.
• Language Skills: A good command of English, including reading, writing, and basic communication, to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• System Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, or other inventory management platforms.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving inventory-related issues.
• Attention to Detail: A meticulous and accuracy-driven mindset to ensure the integrity of inventory records and processes.
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will also be considered.
