Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Collections Specialist to join our Finance & Credit & Collections team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of overdue payments from customers engaged in installment sales of equipment. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining financial stability, minimizing bad debt risks, and fostering strong customer relationships through proactive communication and strategic collection methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

The Collections Specialist will play a critical role in the following areas:

  • Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee and manage accounts receivable portfolios, focusing on the timely recovery of overdue payments from customers involved in installment sales of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or related assets.
  • Customer Tracking & Outreach: Monitor repayment schedules rigorously and engage customers through multiple channels—including phone calls, emails, and on-site visits—to ensure adherence to payment obligations. Proactive outreach is essential to prevent delinquencies and resolve payment disputes efficiently.
  • Risk Monitoring & Early Warning: Continuously assess customers’ operational stability, equipment utilization, and financial health to identify early signs of potential default. Implement early warning systems to mitigate risks and protect the company’s financial interests.
  • Collection Planning & Execution: Develop and execute tailored collection strategies designed to maximize recovery of overdue payments while minimizing financial exposure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine approaches based on market conditions and customer profiles.
  • Reporting & Profile Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer profiles, documenting all interactions, payment histories, and risk assessments. Prepare and submit regular reports on collection progress, aging analyses, and risk evaluations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Ad-hoc Risk Support: Provide additional support to leadership by conducting specialized risk assessments, analyzing delinquency trends, and recommending corrective actions to enhance overall receivables performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education & Nationality

  • Nationality: This position is exclusively open to Saudi nationals, as per company policy.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) will be considered advantageous.

Professional Experience

  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in accounts receivable, debt collection, or credit control is essential. Prior exposure to heavy equipment, automotive, industrial machinery, or B2B leasing/installment sales environments is highly desirable.
  • Fieldwork Capability: Demonstrated ability or willingness to conduct on-site customer visits across multiple regions to facilitate collections, negotiate payment plans, and assess operational risks.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Risk Analysis: Strong analytical acumen to evaluate customer financial data, operational changes, and market trends to anticipate default risks and implement preemptive measures.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in enterprise-level ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, alongside CRM database workflows, to streamline collection processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Data Management: Advanced Excel skills for generating aging reports, scheduling collections, and creating dynamic customer profiles to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of Saudi Arabian commercial laws, debt collection regulations, and corporate governance frameworks to ensure compliance in all collection activities.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Negotiation & Conflict Resolution: Exceptional interpersonal and persuasion skills to navigate challenging collection scenarios while preserving customer relationships and upholding the company’s reputation.
  • Bilingual Communication: Native fluency in Arabic and professional proficiency in English, with the ability to draft clear reports and communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for developing flexible, structured, and sustainable payment rescheduling plans for high-risk accounts to optimize recovery outcomes.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Capacity to compile concise, insightful, and data-backed reports for executive review, highlighting trends, risks, and performance metrics.

Additional Requirements

  • Mobility: Valid Saudi driving license and reliable access to a vehicle to conduct regular field visits and regional travel as needed.
