Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure and Systems Design Expert to lead the development, optimization, and strategic enhancement of our IT infrastructure and systems. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional who can autonomously drive long-term objectives, provide expert guidance, and deliver operational excellence in alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will act as an internal consultant, collaborating closely with stakeholders to assess, design, and implement robust IT solutions that support business growth and technological advancement.
Key Responsibilities
The IT Infrastructure and Systems Design Expert will be responsible for the following core functions:
- Infrastructure and Systems Design:
- Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements, identifying gaps and challenges in the current IT infrastructure and systems.
- Develop detailed, scalable, and future-proof IT infrastructure and systems designs that align with business objectives and address identified gaps.
- Conduct structured requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders to finalize Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to IT infrastructure and systems, ensuring comprehensive and actionable documentation.
- Participate in vendor evaluation and selection processes, applying predefined criteria to identify and recommend optimal solutions in coordination with relevant departments.
- Change Management and Risk Assessment:
- Receive, analyze, and prioritize change requests related to IT infrastructure and systems, providing strategic recommendations and establishing implementation timelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct thorough IT risk assessments to evaluate potential vulnerabilities associated with new technologies, and work with the IT Infrastructure & Networks Planning & Monitoring team to develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies.
- Review periodic performance reports of ZATCA IT infrastructure and systems against established KPIs, analyzing trends and providing data-driven recommendations to enhance efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Organizational Compliance and Operational Excellence:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to maintain a controlled and consistent operational environment.
- Provide expert support in resolving escalated technical issues, offering guidance to junior team members to foster efficient and effective workflows.
- Escalate complex problems to the appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and prevent operational disruptions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the strategic and operational objectives of the IT department.
- People Management and Development:
- Mentor and train junior staff on various job activities, facilitating knowledge transfer and skill development to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
- Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign responsibilities, and monitor workflow to ensure optimal performance and productivity of subordinates and junior staff.
- Support direct reports in executing their duties in accordance with established policies and processes, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable insights to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure seamless integration of IT infrastructure and systems with broader organizational strategies.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field is required.
- A Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of five years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure design, systems management, or a related field is essential.
