Health Safety Environment Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health Safety Environment (HSE) Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Company HSE Manager and Project HSE Manager to execute and enhance our HSE management systems. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and analysis of HSE activities at the site level, ensuring that all HSE targets and objectives are not only met but exceeded. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about fostering a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The HSE Engineer will play a multifaceted role in driving HSE compliance and performance across the project. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Implementation and Compliance: Assist in the execution and adherence to the Project Health and Safety Management Plan (PHSP) and the Project HSE Management Programme, ensuring that all activities align with established HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
• Training and Engagement: Organize, conduct, and actively participate in HSE training sessions, HSE Committee meetings, and Coordination Meetings to foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement among all personnel.
• Advisory Support: Provide expert guidance to supervisory staff on accident prevention strategies, work method improvements, and risk mitigation techniques to enhance operational safety and efficiency.
• Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise HSE officers onsite, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
• Hazard Identification and Reporting: Conduct daily inspections to identify existing hazards, unsafe work conditions, and unsafe practices. Raise observation reports, document corrective measures, and ensure timely implementation of solutions to mitigate risks.
• Compliance Monitoring: Address and report violations of HSE protocols on a daily basis, making data-driven recommendations to prevent recurrence and enhance compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on project HSE performance metrics in a timely manner, ensuring that all HSE goals are achieved and that the project remains on track to meet its safety objectives.
• Initiative and Awareness: Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness campaigns, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution processes in alignment with company policies and Integrated Management Systems (IMS).

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with a specialization in Environmental or Civil Engineering.

• Proficiency in HSE management systems, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment methodologies.
