Senior Financial Planning Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our finance team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Financial Budgeting & Planning Manager to execute critical financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst will be responsible for a diverse range of financial activities, including but not limited to:

• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Capture, analyze, and interpret financial statements and operational data to generate actionable insights. Prepare comprehensive reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making processes.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of the company’s annual budget, including operating budgets, capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets, and headquarters (H.O.) budgets. Provide timely performance reporting to track variances and ensure alignment with financial objectives.
• Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Develop and execute ongoing cash flow forecasts to assess liquidity requirements. Analyze cash flow trends and recommend strategies to optimize working capital and financial flexibility.
• Capital Structure & Leverage Evaluation: Assess the company’s leverage and capital structure, proposing optimal financing strategies to enhance shareholder value and minimize risk.
• Banking & Financial Relationships: Manage all banking facilities, including maintaining relationships with financial institutions, negotiating terms, and ensuring compliance with covenants and agreements.
• Performance Reporting: Design, develop, and deliver monthly performance reports for each investment and business unit. Tailor financial insights to department heads to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Valuation & Investment Analysis: Create and refine valuation models, including financial projections, to accurately evaluate the performance of investments. Assess the financial feasibility of proposed development projects and transactions, analyzing their structure and potential returns.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with the development team to prepare cost estimates, updates, and relevant financial information for all development projects. Monitor expenditures against budgets to ensure financial discipline and accountability.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications will be considered a strong asset.
• Professional Expertise: A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, analysis, and reporting, with at least some experience in a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, BI tools). Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) principles is essential.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are highly desirable and will be viewed favorably.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills. The ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels is critical.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with corporate finance, investment analysis, and financial reporting standards is preferred.
