Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Engineer – Planning to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This senior-level role is pivotal in driving operational excellence through meticulous planning, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical proficiency, analytical acumen, and leadership capabilities to develop and execute comprehensive planning strategies that align with organizational goals. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing resource allocation, mitigating risks, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact projects that meet business and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and refine long-term and short-term planning schedules using advanced tools such as SAP, Oracle Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent software. Ensure plans are realistic, achievable, and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Resource & Capacity Management: Analyze resource requirements, capacity constraints, and demand forecasts to create balanced and efficient plans. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and implement mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and operations, to gather requirements, align priorities, and foster a collaborative planning environment. Serve as a liaison between senior management and execution teams to ensure seamless plan execution.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track plan performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Generate regular reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights, progress, and recommendations to leadership teams.
- Budget & Financial Planning: Lead budget forecasting, cost analysis, and financial planning for planning initiatives. Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints while maximizing operational efficiency.
- Team Development & Mentorship: Mentor junior planning engineers and support the professional growth of team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to streamline planning workflows. Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation in planning methodologies.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including project plans, feasibility reports, and compliance documentation. Ensure all planning activities adhere to organizational policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education & Experience: Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in planning, scheduling, or related functions. A degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in planning and scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Primavera, MS Project) and strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools is essential.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated expertise in project planning, resource allocation, and capacity management. Ability to conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and financial planning with precision.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent organizational, time management, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, communicate effectively with senior management, and present data-driven insights.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in sectors such as oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, or related industries is highly desirable. Familiarity with lean methodologies, ERP systems, and supply chain planning is a plus.
- Certifications & Professional Development: Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or equivalent credentials are preferred. A commitment to continuous learning and professional growth is encouraged.
