Role Overview

PwC Middle East is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate to join our Risk Internal Audit team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in strengthening our clients’ internal control frameworks, enhancing risk management practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. As a Senior Associate, you will lead audit engagements, mentor junior team members, and collaborate closely with senior leadership to deliver high-quality advisory services. Key Responsibilities

The Senior Associate will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Engagement Leadership: Lead and manage internal audit engagements from planning to execution, ensuring adherence to professional standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify key business risks and develop tailored audit plans that address organizational priorities.
  • Control Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk mitigation strategies, providing actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior management, audit committees, and external stakeholders to communicate audit findings, progress updates, and remediation strategies.
  • Team Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional development through guidance, feedback, and on-the-job training.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure audit activities align with local and international regulatory requirements, including Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) and other relevant frameworks.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed audit reports, executive summaries, and presentations to highlight findings, risks, and recommendations for senior leadership and clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements by identifying trends, emerging risks, and opportunities to enhance audit methodologies and client service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in internal audit, risk management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of internal audit standards (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000), risk management frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements. Familiarity with audit software and data analytics tools is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the capacity to interpret complex financial and operational data.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate findings and recommendations clearly to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of successfully managing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Cultural Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a multicultural setting and adapt to the evolving business landscape in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
