Technical Solar Engineer

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership and Management: Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of solar energy projects, ensuring adherence to technical standards, regulatory requirements, and budgetary constraints. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Technical Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal technologies, to design and optimize projects. Utilize simulation software to model system performance, assess feasibility, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Certifications and Compliance: Maintain and leverage certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), and Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) to ensure projects meet industry best practices and compliance standards.
• Commercial and Business Development: Collaborate with sales and business development teams to evaluate market opportunities, prepare proposals, and support client engagements. Analyze financial models to assess project viability and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Team Collaboration and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Project Management Tools: Utilize industry-leading project management tools to streamline workflows, track progress, and ensure seamless project execution. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving and Communication: Address technical challenges with a solutions-oriented approach, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and project success.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in energy management or sustainability are a plus.
• Certifications: Mandatory certifications include Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), and Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in solar or renewable energy project management, design, and execution. Proven track record in leading technical teams and delivering complex projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in solar system design, simulation software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, HOMER), and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, energy modeling, and performance analysis.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to evolving industry trends and challenges.
