About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Financial Planning and Performance to lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management functions for a leading PIF-backed manufacturing organization. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving financial excellence, delivering executive decision support, and ensuring sustainable business growth through robust financial insights and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record in FP&A, corporate finance, and strategic business planning, capable of partnering effectively with executive leadership to shape the company’s financial future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Spearhead enterprise-wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes to align financial strategies with organizational objectives. Develop and implement KPI frameworks, performance dashboards, and executive reporting mechanisms to monitor and enhance business performance.
  • Financial Insights & Decision Support: Provide high-impact financial modelling, business case evaluations, and strategic decision support to guide executive leadership in critical investment and operational decisions. Analyze business performance trends, identify financial risks, and recommend data-driven improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and profitability.
  • Capital & Investment Management: Oversee capital expenditure, project finance, and investment performance to ensure optimal allocation of resources and alignment with long-term strategic goals. Monitor and report on the financial health of projects and initiatives to stakeholders and the Board.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports for the Board, shareholders, and executive management, ensuring transparency and accountability. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Procurement, HR, Legal, and Projects, to integrate financial insights into business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Performance Optimization & Governance: Lead the development of a high-performing FP&A and business performance function, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Support funding activities, financial governance, and compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. Conduct accurate variance analysis and deliver timely management reporting to drive informed decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration. An MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance, Business Planning, or Performance Management. Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial, infrastructure, or project-financed organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with executive leadership, Boards, and investors, demonstrating strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.

Required Skills

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and business valuation. Strong command of SAP ERP, Advanced Excel, and Power BI for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Expertise in business performance management, strategic business planning, and executive reporting. Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build and lead a high-performing FP&A team. Strong stakeholder management capabilities to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Project & Capital Finance: Experience in managing capital expenditure, project finance, and investment performance to support long-term growth initiatives.
