Key Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer II – Backend, you will play a pivotal role in the following areas:

• System Architecture and Development: Design, implement, and maintain robust backend services and APIs that power Delivery Hero’s core delivery platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and high performance.
• Code Quality and Best Practices: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to industry best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation. Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of quality and consistency.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in backend systems to enhance scalability, reliability, and user experience. Utilize profiling tools and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and data engineers to deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives. Contribute to architectural discussions and propose improvements to existing systems.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure backend systems comply with security protocols and data protection regulations. Implement secure coding practices and conduct regular audits to mitigate risks.
• Mentorship and Growth: Support junior engineers through mentorship and knowledge-sharing sessions, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the team.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound expertise in backend technologies such as Java, Python, or Go. Experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Django, or Gin is highly desirable. Familiarity with databases (SQL and NoSQL), RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture is essential.
• Cloud and DevOps: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
