Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Inspector to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, on-site role is pivotal to ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and compliance of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in overseeing structural works, including reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations, and other structural elements, while adhering to project specifications, approved drawings, and stringent quality standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the highest levels of safety, precision, and regulatory compliance throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
The Structural Inspector will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Structural Work Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations, formwork systems, and other structural elements to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable local and international codes.
- Code and Standard Compliance: Verify that all structural works adhere to the Saudi Building Code (SBC), ACI, ASTM, and other relevant industry standards to guarantee safety and structural integrity.
- Documentation Review: Evaluate shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests (IRs) to ensure alignment with project requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Site Supervision: Lead and supervise contractors and site personnel to uphold work quality, safety protocols, and project schedules. Provide clear guidance and ensure adherence to approved methodologies.
- Quality Control and Testing: Oversee quality control procedures, including concrete testing, steel inspections, and other critical assessments to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection reports, identify non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with project objectives.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication, resolve technical challenges, and ensure project success.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 7–9 years of hands-on experience in structural inspection and site supervision within the construction or engineering consulting industry.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of reinforced concrete works, structural steel works, foundations, formwork systems, and structural construction practices.
- Code Familiarity: Proficiency in Saudi Building Code (SBC), ACI, ASTM, and other relevant structural codes and standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and inspection reporting tools to streamline documentation and reporting processes.
- Language Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Arabic is considered a valuable asset.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
