About the Role
As an IT Support Officer at Land Sterling, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the seamless operation of our global IT infrastructure, ensuring that our employees across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe have uninterrupted access to critical technology resources. This position is integral to delivering high-quality real estate solutions by providing responsive technical support, managing IT assets, and safeguarding our digital environment. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related inquiries, resolving hardware, software, and network issues with efficiency and professionalism. Your responsibilities will include:
- Technical Support & End-User Assistance:
- Provide prompt and effective first-line technical support to employees, addressing hardware, software, and system-related issues.
- Set up, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, and workstations for new hires, ensuring seamless onboarding.
- Manage user accounts, email access, file server permissions, and telephone systems to maintain operational continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while minimizing downtime to support business productivity.
- Educate employees on IT best practices, cybersecurity awareness, and company policies to foster a secure and efficient work environment.
- Systems & Infrastructure Management:
- Install, upgrade, and maintain operating systems and business-critical applications across Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal connectivity and performance.
- Oversee hardware inventory, including computers, printers, and peripherals, to ensure asset accountability.
- Support biometric authentication systems and secure access solutions to enhance data protection.
- Manage data backup processes and assist with disaster recovery initiatives to safeguard business continuity.
- Document IT assets, configurations, and support activities to maintain accurate records and facilitate audits.
- Google Workspace Administration:
- Administer and support Google Workspace services, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, and collaboration tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Google Workspace applications to ensure uninterrupted productivity.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance user experience and collaboration within the organization.
- Stay updated with new Google Workspace features and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems.
- Support cybersecurity audits and compliance initiatives to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor system security and propose enhancements to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure adherence to internal IT standards and security protocols to maintain a robust defense against cyber threats.
- Vendor & Operational Support:
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Assist with the procurement of IT equipment and technology solutions to support business growth.
- Collaborate with the IT & Communications Manager to execute operational IT initiatives and strategic projects.
- Perform additional IT administrative tasks as required to support daily operations and long-term objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, or Technical Support roles.
- Proven experience supporting Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with Google Workspace administration is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, security practices, and access management protocols.
- Experience with user account administration and permission management in enterprise environments.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency in documentation and processes.
