Position Overview
Al-Ghad College of Applied Medical Sciences, a distinguished private educational institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified English Lecturer to join our esteemed faculty in Riyadh. Key Responsibilities
The English Lecturer will play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact educational programs aligned with the college’s vision and mission. Your responsibilities will include:
- Instruction and Curriculum Delivery: Teach assigned English courses in accordance with the prescribed study plan and academic quorum, ensuring alignment with the college’s educational standards and objectives.
- Lesson Planning and Material Development: Design and develop engaging, interactive, and relevant teaching materials tailored to the needs of medical sciences students, incorporating the latest pedagogical trends and technological tools.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments, including setting examination questions, grading, reviewing, and auditing student performance to ensure academic rigor and fairness.
- Student Engagement and Support: Deliver motivating and interactive lessons that enhance students’ English language proficiency, critical thinking, and communication skills, fostering a conducive learning environment.
- Program Development and Collaboration: Actively participate in the development and refinement of academic programs, departmental councils, and college-wide initiatives, including scientific research and academic advising.
- Administrative and Professional Duties: Attend departmental meetings, contribute to committee work, and adhere to institutional policies and regulations. Maintain discipline and order in classrooms, laboratories, and other academic settings.
- Continuous Professional Growth: Stay abreast of emerging trends in English language teaching, including applied linguistics, TESOL, TEFL, and educational technology, to enhance instructional effectiveness and student outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Master’s degree in English (with a specialization in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, TESL, TEFL, Linguistics, or English Literature) is required. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in English will be considered if accompanied by a CELTA certification.
- Teaching Experience: A minimum of two years of teaching or training experience is required for candidates with a Master’s degree. Those holding a bachelor’s degree must possess at least five years of relevant experience.
- Professional Competencies: Demonstrated proficiency in English pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar, along with strong interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students effectively. Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and assessment methodologies is essential.
- Accreditation and Compliance: All qualifications must be from universities recognized by the Saudi Ministry of Education, with equivalency certificates submitted where applicable. Applicants must hold a grade of "Good" or higher in their academic records.
