Role Overview
As a Financial Analysis Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial decision-making by delivering robust financial analysis, developing sophisticated financial models, and crafting compelling business cases. Key Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of this role encompass a broad spectrum of financial and analytical functions, including:
- Financial and Operational Data Collection: Gather and analyze critical financial and operational data, including key business metrics and unified profit-and-loss (P&L) statements, to assess deal profitability and inform commercial decision-making.
- Financial Modeling and Strategic Support: Develop advanced financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, investment opportunities, commercial proposals, and bid scenarios. These models will serve as the foundation for informed decision-making and risk assessment.
- Business Case Development: Prepare comprehensive business cases by integrating inputs from Deal Desk, bidding teams, and other stakeholders. Your analysis will cover commercial, financial, operational, and technical dimensions to present a holistic view of each opportunity.
- Financial Feasibility and Risk Evaluation: Assess the financial viability, profitability, risks, and expected returns of business opportunities. Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to stakeholders to guide their decision-making processes.
- Periodic Reporting and Dashboards: Produce and maintain detailed reports and interactive dashboards that track deal consumption, approved discounts, opportunity pipeline performance, bid funnel metrics, and financial trends. These insights will be essential for monitoring performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Weekly Reporting and KPI Tracking: Generate weekly reports that highlight bid management activities, financial status, progress, and key performance indicators (KPIs). These reports will ensure transparency and accountability across the organization.
- Historical Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous historical records and audit trails of completed deals to support governance, benchmarking, and future financial analysis. This documentation will be critical for regulatory compliance and strategic planning.
- Stakeholder Communication and Presentation: Present business case findings and financial recommendations to bidding teams, account managers, and senior leadership. Your ability to articulate complex financial concepts in a clear and compelling manner will be essential for driving alignment and informed decision-making.
- Collaboration with Business Finance: Work closely with Business Finance teams to review, validate, and approve business cases. Ensure that all financial assessments align with portfolio-level objectives and corporate financial strategies.
- Process Improvement and Innovation: Champion the continuous improvement of financial modeling methodologies, reporting processes, and analytical tools. Identify opportunities to enhance decision-making effectiveness and operational efficiency across the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you will bring a minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, business case development, and commercial finance. Prior experience within the telecommunications or technology industry is highly desirable, as it will provide you with the specialized knowledge required to navigate the unique challenges of these sectors. Your educational background should include a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, with a Master’s degree in a related field serving as a strong advantage.
Professional Certifications and Skills
While not mandatory, professional certifications such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are highly recommended.
