About the Role
We are collaborating with a leading financial institution or consulting firm based in Riyadh to identify a highly motivated and skilled Risk Analyst to join their dynamic team. This position is designed for professionals with 1 to 4 years of experience who are eager to contribute to critical risk and control functions within a reputable organization. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the firm’s risk management framework by supporting a wide range of activities, including Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), internal controls, process reviews, issue tracking, remediation follow-up, and governance documentation. Key Responsibilities
The Risk Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are integral to maintaining robust risk and control standards across the organization. Your core duties will include:
- Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA): Support the execution of RCSA activities across business and support functions, including identifying risks, documenting controls, assessing control design effectiveness, and tracking control gaps to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Process Documentation and Analysis: Conduct thorough process walkthroughs to understand operational workflows and support the development of risk-control matrices, process maps, and comprehensive control documentation that provide clarity on risk exposures and mitigation strategies.
- Control Testing and Documentation: Assist in control testing activities by gathering and documenting evidence, recording results, and highlighting observations to ensure compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements.
- Risk and Issue Management: Maintain and update risk registers, issue logs, remediation trackers, and action plans to ensure transparency and accountability in addressing identified risks and control deficiencies.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Follow-Up: Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, Operations, and business teams to monitor the progress of remediation efforts, address open findings, and drive continuous improvement in the control environment.
- Reporting and Communication: Support the preparation of management reports, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate key risks, control issues, and the status of corrective actions to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Policy and Procedure Updates: Contribute to the review and enhancement of policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and governance documents to ensure they remain current, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 1 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in risk management, internal controls, internal audit, external audit, risk advisory, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), compliance, or controls testing within a corporate or financial services environment.
- A solid understanding of risk and control frameworks, including RCSA, issue tracking, remediation processes, and documentation standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to document work accurately and comprehensively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data, create reports, and deliver presentations effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your candidacy for this role:
- Prior experience working in banking, financial services, a Big 4 firm, consulting, government entities, or large corporate environments.
- Familiarity with recognized risk and control frameworks such as COSO, ISO 31000, RCSA, Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, risk registers, or control testing methodologies.
- Professional certifications or progress toward certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Governance, Risk, and Compliance Professional (GRCP), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
