About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Legal Affairs Manager to join our Legal Affairs & GRC team. In this pivotal position, you will assume a leadership role within the company’s legal function, providing high-level legal counsel, managing contractual obligations, overseeing litigation and claims, and ensuring full compliance with Saudi laws and regulatory frameworks. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding the organization’s interests while fostering sustainable business growth. This role demands a proactive legal professional who can navigate complex legal landscapes, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and drive operational excellence through sound legal judgment.
Key Responsibilities
As the Legal Affairs Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Legal Advisory: Serve as the primary legal advisor to senior management and internal stakeholders, offering expert guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a diverse portfolio of commercial and corporate contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal best practices.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Oversee the company’s litigation portfolio, including claims management, dispute resolution, and representation before judicial and governmental authorities to protect the organization’s legal rights.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor evolving legal and regulatory developments, assess their impact on the business, and implement proactive measures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal departments, including finance, operations, and human resources, to provide tailored legal guidance, develop internal policies, and mitigate potential legal risks.
- Policy Development: Lead the creation and implementation of legal policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and reduce legal exposure across the organization.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the following competencies:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive legal experience, with a proven track record in a corporate or in-house legal environment.
- Industry Expertise: Prior experience in the real estate, construction, or hospitality sectors is highly advantageous, given the specialized legal and regulatory considerations of these industries.
- Legal Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Saudi laws, contract drafting and negotiation, litigation practices, and corporate governance requirements.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is strongly preferred to facilitate seamless communication with local authorities and stakeholders.
